Fort Myers, Fla. June 25th, 2009 - Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions, today announced two new series of ceramic SMD (surface mount device) automotive-grade crystals built to operate at extended temperature ranges and engineered to withstand higher levels of shock and vibration.  The new FXA5032B and FXA7050B crystals are used in a variety of automotive timing applications, including GPS navigation, high-end audio and video systems, wireless phones, collision warning systems, Antilock Brake System controller, RADAR and onboard computer systems.
 
Fox's FXA5032B series features a 5 mm x 3 mm package with a frequency range of 8 MHz to 150 MHz, while the larger 7 mm x 5 mm FXA7050B series offers a 6 MHz to 133 MHz frequency range.
 
Standard frequency stabilities for both series are ±50 ppm to ±100 ppm, with operating temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C and -40°C to +125°C, respectively and a 3 ppm aging per year.  Additional tolerances and stabilities are available upon request.  In addition, both products meet AEC-Q200, the Automotive Electronics Council Stress Test Qualification for Passive Components, and feature a load capacitance of 10 pF, a drive level of 100 Micro Watts and a maximum soldering temperature of 260°C per 10 seconds.
 
These RoHS-compliant auto-grade crystals have a gold termination finish and are seam sealed.  This hermetically sealed lid helps reduce foreign matter and moisture from inside the package.
 
Pricing for a FXA5032B with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C is $0.39 each in quantities of 10,000.  Delivery is 6-8 weeks ARO.

Fort Myers, Fla. May 1st, 2009 - Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions, has expanded its XpressO oscillator series to include a 2.5-volt LVDS VCXO version with a frequency range of 0.75 MHz through 1.0 GHz in a miniature 5 mm x 3.2 mm package at the same price point as the larger 7 mm x 5 mm package.

The new
FVXO-LC52 oscillators are ideal for use in data storage, fiber channel, wireless repeaters, transponders, HDTV, FPGAs, data acquisition and military communications.

The revolutionary, configurable frequency XpressO oscillator series utilizes application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that have been designed and developed by Fox, and concentrate on both noise reduction technologies as well as significantly lower jitter levels.

The FVXO-LC52 oscillators use a third order Delta Sigma Modulator (DSM) to reduce noise levels comparable to traditional bulk quartz and SAW oscillators.  The latest technology on the market is employed in these oscillators, enabling optimal selection of the output type, input voltages and temperature performance features.

Shorter lead times and a 1 to 2 day shipment of samples are standard with the LVDS VCXO XpressO oscillators. In addition, production quantities are shipped within 10 days.

The new oscillators offer a frequency resolution to six decimal places, an absolute pull range (APR) of +50 ppm and operating temperatures of -20°C to +70°C or -40°C to +85°C.

These RoHS-compliant oscillators feature a miniature 5 mm x 3.2 mm package size with an industry standard footprint and pin-out, have a tri-state enable/disable feature and are constructed with a gold over nickel termination finish.  In addition, this series incorporates Fox's patented serial identification system with comprehensive traceability to ensure quality control.  All finished XpressO parts are 100% final tested.

Pricing for a FVXO-LC52B XpressO VCXO Oscillator at 212.5 MHz in quantities of 1,000 is $3.16 per unit.  Delivery is next day for samples and 10 days for volume production.

Fox Electronic's 2.5-Volt HCMOS Oscillators Offers Stabilities As Low As 8 ppm

August 11, 2008 - Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions, now offers HCMOS oscillators with 2.5-volt operation and tighter stability options of 15 ppm (F547), 10 ppm (F549) and 8 ppm (F54S), with phase noise of -140 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset and a jitter period of 3 ps (RMS), making the series ideal for communication equipment, data transfer and test and measurement equipment applications, where reduced current and heat generation are required.

Ideal for customers needing tight stability oscillators, Fox's new F54 oscillator series features significantly tighter stability options compared to traditional oscillator stabilities of 100 ppm to 20 ppm. Fox's new low voltage oscillators also operate over a wide temperature range of -20°C to +70°C or optional temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (R Version) and feature a maximum soldering temperature of 260°C at 10 seconds.

The RoHS-compliant series has a gold over nickel termination finish and features industry standard packaging of 5.0 mm x 3.2 mm, including footprint and pin-out. Fox's F53 series is packaged on tape and reel.

Fox Electronics New TCXO/VCTCXO Series Offers Stratum III Stability Performance Ideal For Telecom Network Applications

April 7, 2008 -Fox Electronics, America's leading supplier of frequency control solutions, has recently developed the new FOX331, HCMOS, TCXO/VCTCXO series featuring Stratum III stability.  The series is designed to comply with the Telcordia GR 1244 specification, requiring a daily stability of 0.37 PPM and a frequency stability of less than 4.6 PPM for 20 years.

Featuring a small profile of 7.0 mm L x 5.0 mm H x 2.0 mm W as well as 3.3 V operation, this oscillator family is ideal for telecom network applications including data and voice transfer, base stations, telecom infrastructure and network synchronization.

Fox's new oscillator series is available in frequencies of 10 MHz to 20 MHz and offers an overall frequency stability of ?4.6 PPM as well as ?0.28 PPM over a temperature range of -20?C to +70?F and ?0.37 PPM over a temperature range of -40?C to +85?F.  These TXCO/VCTCXOs feature a storage temperature range of -55?C to +125?F. 

In addition, the oscillators offer a phase noise of -120 dBc/Hz at an offset of 100 Hz, -140 dBc/Hz at an offset of 1 kHz and of -148 dBc/Hz at an offset of 10 kHz.  The series has a source current (IOH) and a sink current (IOL) of 6 mA. Input current (IDD) is 6 mA.

The FQ3225B, which features an ultra low profile of 1.0mm, is ideal for a wide range of portable and battery-powered applications including MP3 and CD/ DVD players, cell phones, radios (FM, AM, satellite), set top boxes, modems and routers.


The FQ3225B features enhanced performance with an all-quartz surface mount. In addition, all frequencies for this crystal package are available in fundamental mode, which provides a clean signal for high-end network communications applications.

 

This crystal series is available in frequencies from 16 MHz to 50 MHz, with a ?50 ppm tolerance @ 25?C (77?F).  Standard stability is ?50 ppm in the temperature range of -10?C to 70?C (-14?F to 158?F). Designed for use in base stations, the new FTS310 OCXO will benefit the WiMAX, HIPERMAN and WiBro markets in the U.S., Europe and Korea, respectively.

 Fox's new OCXO is more robust than TCXO options, clearly meeting the IEEE 802.16-2004 specification that dictates the OCXO have a frequency stability better than 8 PPM for 10 years. I

The reduced size of the FHS501AH oscillator makes it particularly useful in portable devices and stems from its use of a smaller crystal, which allows many other individual components in the OCXO to also be decreased.

Applications that may utilize the OCXO range from GPS and time code instruments, to base stations, test equipment, synthesizers and digital switching equipment.

 The FHS501AH?s small form factor offers the same high frequency stability as a full size OCXO package, at +/-4.6 PPM.
